I know it’s been a while. In fact, these photos were taken WAY back. I just haven’t had time to upload them and sort them in this manner. =/
I believe Ultra Act Ultraman Gaia (V2) was a ‘first’ of sorts for the Ultra Act line. It was the first time they included a ‘light-up’ eye version for the Ultra Act line. By the way, the V2 is part of Gaia’s name, and not that Tamashii Nations has released a “V1” of this model before. V2 Gaia has the black stripe across his chest. V1 Gaia’s stripe is gold.
There were three marketing points for Gaia. First, “Genuine ACT mould” – accurate details from the show, along with great articulation. Second, “Speed and Force” – the effect parts included are meant to reflect this, along with the first release bonus parts. Third, the new “Daylight Radiance” light-up eyes. What Tamashii Nations did was simply have a second head with clear parts moulded behind for light piping.
The box is a lot more brightly coloured compared to the older black-based schemes. Part of Tamashii Nations’ repackaging and marketing plan I suppose.
Quite a few effect parts were included for Gaia, and they all look very detailed.
The ‘light-up’ effect at work. It actually looks really good, and I had a lot of fun playing with it.
With the first release effect bonus parts.
Also, starting with Gaia, Tamashii Nations decided to include a ‘tab’ piece that allows one to connect the torso of the Ultraman to a Tamashii Nations stand. This is quite a smart move, because it allows for greater stability when you pose the figure.
The new tab also makes it easier for Ultraman to adopt such flight poses.
Hope you enjoyed the photos! Till the next review!
